November Observances

November comes, most cloudy of the year,
but filled with special days, events of note.
We first turn back the clock, an hour's rest to cheer,
then, patriotically, we cast our vote.

Our high regard is given to those so brave,
who served our land at home or foreign shores,
our freedoms and our peaceful lives to save,
army, navy, nurses, air force, served in wars.

Acknowledgment for all the blessings named,
lead to the day Thanksgiving is proclaimed
