Passing fashions
Petite paisleys decked menswear just for awhile;
salmon prevailed, and orchid and pink.
Ivy league straps and buckles passed by in style,
Norfolk jackets, bell bottoms, in sync.
Cargoes are in with pockets on legs;
Spandex is only for sports.
Grungies, dropped crotches, symptoms of the dregs,
of what current fashion purports.
The daisy-decked garlands, patch patterned flares,
peasants and fringed skirts saw their day.
Chain-draped leather and dew rags have their place,
but Levis are never passe`.
