Snowbirds
Next month,we'll dwell in other states,
and, on our way, meet different faces.
How a familiar friend elates;
pick up our lives in far-off places.
And, still, our hearts to this place cling,
while we'll anticipate, as well,
returning, as we do in spring,
to the home we summer-dwell.
We'll fondly trust with faithful heart,
that summer keeps you safe and sound,
and through the time that we're apart,
we think of having you around.
Then, in the fall, with hearts aglow,
we'll leave the north for palms and sun,
anticipate the friends we know,
again, with joy, greet everyone.
