St Patrick, We Hail You
It's in merry March we'll rise and sing,
to keep Saint Patrick's Day.
Corned beef and cabbage we will bring;
we'll feast and music play.
With jigs, parades and fellowship,
and wearing of the green,
honor a saint who scales would tip,
so God's good will be seen.
Drink a toast to good old Ireland,
native son and adopted kin.
Hug a waist, and shake a hand;
let love, lore. laughter in.
Though folklore says he drove out snakes,
we give thanks to Father God,
most for the fact, for people's sakes,
he brought faith to the loved Old Sod.
